We had another successful authors event at the Coronado Center auditorium on June 17th, thanks to the leadership of Lynne Eshenour of the Friends of the Coronado Center Library (FOCCL) Board, a tireless group of volunteers, a fascinating group of local authors, and a fascinated group of local readers. The wine and cheese part of the event wasn’t bad, either. ๐Ÿ™‚

welcomes the audience and introduces the authors.

As always, the audience was an attentive one!

Janis LeForge displays all three of her recent mystery novels
Young Adult novelist (and also managing editor of the Russellville Courier newspaper) Travis Simpson chats with a fan

And, speaking of newspapers, we were very pleased to welcome Conner Riley, reporter intern at the Hot Springs Village Voice, who came to cover our event!

And thank you for the great article that accompanied this photo on the front page of
the Community section in the June 24, 2025 Hot Springs Village Voice, Conner!

Among our volunteers were the Hollidays, who helped to oversee the wine at our event. Their table was very popular.

Also popular was the cheese and fruit table, overseen here by FOCCL Board member Bonnie Dern and volunteer Irene Keith.

And FOCCL Board member Glenda Ford (and retired Coronado Center librarian) is always popular!

If you weren’t able to come to the event but are interested in the books by these authors, please visit the Coronado Center Library and check out our “Local Authors” shelf; you should be able to find many of them there, thanks to those authors who graciously donated copies to our library:

And watch for the announcement of our next local authors event, coming later this fall, which will feature children’s book writers, with cookies and coffee galore!!!
