The Friends of the Coronado Center Library (FOCCL) are pleased to announce a special free “Wine and Cheese with the Author” event on Wednesday, August 13th from 2-5 PM at the Coronado Community Center. This event will feature Village Voice Correspondent Jeff Meek and local author and presenter Kathy Sanders. Both will be speaking, answering questions, and signing books.

Jeff Meek currently writes for the Village Voice, George, and Garrison: The Journal of History & Deep Politics. Many will have read his “The JFK Files” articles, which are frequently published in the Voice. Jeff wrote a book with the same title, along with other books related to the JFK assassination. He has been very thorough with the research and interviews conducted across many years and his analysis of the events. His analysis includes interviews with Dr. Cyril Wecht, the daughter of the then Dallas Deputy Sheriff, House Select Committee investigators, and a fellow Marine from Oswald’s unit, to name a few.
Meek has also written books focusing on the stories of veterans. Many of the stories told in these books are about our friends and neighbors. Jeff has been honored many times for his work with veterans including here in Hot Springs Village.

Kathy Sanders is the definition of courage and the pursuit of truth. After losing both her grandchildren in the Oklahoma City Bombing in April of 1995, she began a mission to share her journey of understanding with others. Her first two books provided insight into her personal experiences and her reflections on this incomprehensible tragedy.
Sanders has shared her story locally and nationally through the recent HBO documentary An American Bombing: The Road to April 19th. Kathy’s latest book, Shadows of Conspiracy, was released in March of this year. It focuses on her personal journey to uncover what really happened. She takes us along on her years of research, interviews, and digging through documents and lets us in on what she found.
Please don’t miss this exciting and thought-provoking event!
