Our Book Sale Was Huge!

Thanks to the help of lots of Friends (and friends of Friends), we were able to hold our first big book sale in several years, and it was a huge success!! After months of planning led by book sale co-chairs Jaan Kulhman and Rebecca Schulte, the FOCCL book sale was held in the Coronado Center auditorium on the afternoon of Friday, October 24 for FOCCL members only and open to the public on Saturday, October 25.

So here’s the inside story in pictures!

Fountain Lake Students
Ms. Leaholli Hensley and some of her students from Fountain Lake Charter High School helped load lots of books from storage
into our rental truck on Thursday
Members of the HSV Rotary Club came out to unload the rental truck
at the Coronado Center on Friday morning
Half-way through the unloading and ahead of schedule,
thanks to our HSV Rotary members
Everybody is hard at work!
Dozens of boxes of books were unloaded and unpacked,
with more help from HSV Rotary members
(FOCCL President Rebecca Schulte in center at front)
Maggie Moreland (at left) and FOCCL Treasurer Jaan Kuhlman (at right) unpacking boxes of books
FOCCL Board Member Bonnie Dern unpacking books
We had a great selection of books for sale
We had books, puzzles, DVDs, and magazines too
FOCCL Secretary Carole Welle alphabetizing the paperbacks
Here come the customers!
Searching for that perfect book!
Georgia Gaston running the cashier’s desk for our book sale customers
FOCCL Board Member Lynne Lawson keeping books
in order during the sale
The 5 Dollar Per Bag End of Sale Hour was very popular
We loved seeing our customers walk away happy!
At the end of the day, we packed up the remaining books
and declared it a very successful sale!

Thank you to everyone who helped by volunteering and/or buying books!
