The final session of our summer reading program took place this past Wednesday. The children got a copy of the final week’s book to take home with them as well as a goodie bag full of snacks and stickers, while the last craft of our session was a design-your-own-bookmark project.
Thank you to all the speakers who took time out of their day to entertain (and educate!) the kids from Hot Springs Village. Thank you also to the librarians who took the time to set up the program, arrange for the speakers and participate each week (especially Amy Goodwin Kirk, Kim Green, and Angie Shipp).
We hope that everyone enjoyed our summer program at the library, and hope to bring it back next year!

Library Ligerdean, about a door that suddenly appears in the library.
We hope that our summer session opened some doors to the library for all our participants!

and then leading everybody in a fun craft activity: making 3D animal magnets!

reading the story “Kat Writes a Song.”
Then the children each created a musical shaker instrument of their own.
The library came alive with music as these young musicians began to play!!

for our fifth session. We learned a lot about fireworks safety,
made our own police badges, and then had a parade around the Fitness Center track!

was the special guest for our fourth session.
She had some great stories to share with us!

and showed us some fun yoga poses for our third session!

They taught us about fire safety and let us visit their fire truck.
(And maybe there are some future first responders in this photo too!)

Everyone got to check out the EMT vehicle!!
